Sometimes, simplest is best. This classic guacamole hits all the right notes and contains a healthy amount of monounsaturated oil, a truly “friendly” fat.

2 extra ripe avocados
¼ teaspoon garlic salt
Juice of one lime, 2-3 tablespoons
2 tablespoons chopped tomato (optional)

Halve both avocadoes and scoop out the pulp. Dispose of the pits. In a medium bowl, chop and mash the avocado to desired consistency. Sprinkle with garlic salt and stir to combine. Squeeze lime over mixture and stir briefly. Add tomato, if using, and stir and fold guacamole into a dip bowl. Makes 4 servings.
